Health Service Planning

Waitemata DHB (DHB) expanded services and facilities in West Auckland. A fourfold increase in services was forecast and NZ Treasury had approved a $60m expansion programme.

Since the business case, there had been significant changes in the health environment. Regional clinical service plans were in place, and the funding for different services had changed.

Service Planning and Financial Modelling assisted with the opening of the new facility. The DHB asked us to develop volume and capacity plans as an input for service planning. We developed a financial plan taking into account latest volume and capacity projections. Other DHBs have since used the templates created for this project.
